John 14:27

Peace that doesn't depend on circumstances going well — His peace, given, not earned. — John 14:27 John 14 is in the Gospel of John, New Testament — part of Jesus's farewell talk to His disciples the night before the cross. He knows what's coming and that they'll be shaken, so He promises them His peace and the Holy Spirit. This peace isn't the world's kind — it doesn't depend on circumstances going well. 'Let not your heart be troubled' is a command, not a suggestion — peace here is something received from Him, not something you have to manufacture.

Matthew 11:28

You do not have to carry today into tomorrow — He offers rest tonight. — Matthew 11:28 Where it sits: Matthew, the first book of the New Testament — the first of the four Gospels. Who's speaking: Jesus, teaching in the towns of Galilee. What's around it: He has just been rejected by the very towns that saw His miracles, and the religious leaders are loading people down with rules. Right after this verse He promises His yoke is easy and His burden is light — rest isn't earned by carrying more, it's given. For your day: church, mahjong with Erin, the water guy, bills, and a clock change — a full Sunday. This is the verse for the end of exactly that kind of day.
